The BBQ & Fly in on the River Competition
Located in downtown Excelsior Springs, MO, the BBQ and Fly in On the River brings great BBQ, local bands, and lots of fun to this unique downtown environment. Held in August, it can get very warm, especially as the teams are all on the towns streets and parking lots, so shade and water were key.
The 2018 edition of the competition was the first time The BBQ Mavens went to a competition with new recipes and a schedule to follow. We saw a drastic improvement in out Chicken and Pork, placing 29th in Chicken and 27th in Pork out of 57 teams competing.
