Auntie Hul’s Brown Bread
A great holiday cake from my great aunt Hilda Baier, Helen's sister.
Pour the 1 1/2 cups of boiling water over the raisins. Add the sugar and butter, stir, then let cool.
Preheat the oven to 350 Degrees
In a separate bowl, mix all the dry ingredients; the salt, flour, Kellogg's All Bran, and baking soda. Pour the mixture from step 1 into this bowl, mixing them together. Finish by adding the vanilla and egg, until fully incorporated
Be sure to add these items in this order for it to work properly! Put in baking pans and bake at 350 degrees. Depending on the size of the baking pan, it should take 40-50 minutes to bake. Use the toothpick method to make sure the cake is done. Prior to removing, let cool for atleast 10 minutes.
