Stroud’s Restaurant
Kansas City, MO
Home to some of the best pan-fried chicken in the world, Stroud’s is a hidden gem of Kansas City. Serving this chicken since 1933, Stroud’s has a loyal following of fans. It has been featured on The Food Network, is a James Beard Foundation – American Classics winner, and was a Zagat Award winner for best restaurant.
The Restaurants:
The two locations of Strou’s are very different. The first, in Kansas City, is an 1830’s home that has been transformed into a restaurant. The floors are crooked, the decor is very old, and the food is amazing. They even have an outdoor bar for the summer when it can get to have 2 hour waits! The 2nd location, in Overland Park, is a much more traditional style restaurant, but still provides amazing pan fried chicken!
The Food:
The food is the crown jewel of Stroud’s. A great variety of pan fried chicken (bone in chicken, chicken tenders, chicken fried steak, and more), side dishes and complimentary melt-in-your-mouth cinnamon rolls turn this dinner into a feast. Every main dish comes with your choice of potato and green beans, plus a salad or homemade chicken soup. I have never gone wrong with anything I have ordered, and I don’t think you can either!
