The Local Pig & Pigwich

A Kansas City favorite, Pigwich has all sorts of fresh cooked meats. Attached to a butcher shop, the Local Pig, the menu changes daily and always has something unique to try! Pigwich was featured on Diners, Drive In’s, and Dives with special guest, and frequent visitor, Kansas City Chiefs Head Coach, Andy Reid! The Local Pig butcher shop also features a weekly cooking class to help you feel more comfortable with butchering your meats!
The Restaurant:
Pigwich and the Local Pig are located in the River Market in Kansas City. After being located in the East Bottoms for 6 years, they were able to expand to a new storefront in the River Market in January of 2019. The butcher shop is open from 10am to 8pm daily, and Pigwich is open from 11am to 8pm daily. With its location in the River Market, it can get busy on weekends in the summer when people are out at the Farmer’s Market.
The Food:
If you are a fan of meat, this is the place for you. With their changing menu, be sure to visit their website before you visit so you know what to expect. Every item I have ever gotten has been fantastic, and with their new location you can even get a beer with your meal! You should also stop by the Local Pig butcher shop on your visit. Pick up some hand crafted brats or other perfectly butchered meats to cook at home after eating next door!
