With 5 locations around Portland, Pok Pok is serving food found at pubs, restaurants, homes, and the streets of Southeast Asia with the majority of the food coming from Thailand, and specifically from the North and Northeast of Thailand.
While at Pok Pok I ordered what brought me to this restaurant in the first place, the Thai Spicy Wings. As I was in town for work, I brought up my desire to get some wings for dinner, and was told that I had to check out Pok Pok. Even though this was not what I was expecting when thinking about wings, these Thai style wings were fantastic! With a little bit of sweetness, and some real spice, the wings knocked it out of the park.
The rest of the menu was very authentic Thai food. You wont find Pad Thai or other Americanized dishes, but the staff will provide recommendations and help you find a dish you will like. Be open to trying something new and you will leave happy!
The main location is very small, so be prepared to wait if you show up during peak hours. They do have a bar that you can sit at, which helped me jump ahead in the line and get to eating much quicker than originally quoted!
