How to Prepare for your First Disney Trip!

Planning a trip to a Disney property can be overwhelming, even for those of us who have been tons of times, so for a family making their first trip, it can be too much to undertake. Luckily, there are options available to help!

To get started, be sure to check out a helpful guide of Disney Terminology as you start planning.

Disney Travel Consultants:

One of the best options to help manage all the moving parts of your upcoming trip is to work with a certified Disney Travel Agent! They are a FREE service offered, and can help you book FastPasses, Hotels, and Dining reservations, as well as provide all sorts of tips about how to maximize your time on a Disney Vacation!

My personal recommendation is to work with Catherine Koth, as she has helped me a few times and she really knows her stuff!

Why use a Travel Consultant?
  • It’s completely FREE
  • Handles all dining and FP+ reservations early in the morning so you don’t have to!
  • Creates daily itinerary
  • Support every step of the way!
  • Stress free planning
  • Find the best deals within your budget!
  • Advice you can trust!

Be sure to reach out to her if you have any Disney related questions for Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise line, and many more! She can also help with Universal Studios and Sea World if your trip to Orlando will include more than one Theme Park!

Disney Websites:

There are tons of websites that offer planning tips, news, and opinions around the Disney properties. Each one will keep you up to date if a ride is going to be closed, if something new is opening, or if there is a special event going on while you will be at the parks! Some of the websites I visit frequently include:

Be sure to find the site you enjoy the most, and you can also follow them on social media pages to get up to date information in your news feeds!

Disney Podcasts:

Another venue that can be very overwhelming is to decipher all of the podcast options that discuss Disney. Many can seem similar, and it is all about personal opinion in who you like listening to. There are a few that have stood out to me, and my personal favorites are:

Hopefully these tips will help you get started on your trip to a Disney property, and of course, feel free to reach out to me on Instagram @theDisneyMaven and I would love to help, too!
