The VOID – Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire

** NOTE ** The Void did not reopen after the COVID closures in 2020.  Hopefully it, or something similar, will return in the future.

Located at Disney Springs in Walt Disney World and Downtown Disney at Disneyland, this Virtual Reality experience is a ton of fun!  I have done this experience twice now, once on both coasts, and both times have really enjoyed my time as a member of the rebellion.  The VOID describes the experience as the below:

A galaxy far, far away needs your help. In teams up to four, be transported with family and friends in an immersive experience from Lucasfilm, ILMxLAB and The VOID. Under the orders of the budding rebellion, your team will travel to the molten planet of Mustafar. Your mission is to recover Imperial intelligence vital to the rebellion’s survival. Alongside the pragmatic droid K-2S0, your team must navigate through an enemy facility walking into danger at every turn. Disguised as stormtroopers, grab your blaster, solve puzzles, and fight giant lava monsters in an effort to fulfill your team's orders.

You and 3 friends, or strangers, will be teamed up in this adventure.  Using a Virtual Reality headset and a toy blaster (that will look real in the virtual reality world), you are thrown into the resistance.  Taking on Darth Vader, Storm Troopers, and many other twists and turns, you and your team must fight to help the rebellion.  With a K-2SO droid helping along the way, you are able to problem solve, shoot storm troopers, and explore the Emprie’s spaceship.  As you freely roam around the VOID, you feel the heat from fire, sit down on a bench in the transport vehicle, and open and close doors along your journey.  These details make The VOID, flat out awesome!

The VOID recently added a Wreck It Ralph experience, which I am hoping to check out soon!  Ralph Breaks VR will take guests into the Internet with Ralph and Vanellope, giving guests the chance for the most epic food fight around!

To learn more about this unique experience, visit their website.  Also, be sure to make a reservation ahead of time, so you are not having to wait for too long to experience this.  There are also 13 other locations around the US and Canada that allow you to experience Star Wars, even if you can’t make it to Disney!  Coming in around $30 for the experience, and lasting around 30 minutes, this is a great experience for all guests over 10 years old (and 48″ tall) to enjoy!
