How to Cut the Acidity in Tomato Sauce

Tomatoes can be very acidic when making a tomato sauce. Typically, people add a pinch or two of sugar to their sauce to help counteract this. If you don’t want to add sugar, try adding a little baking soda. Simply stir 1/4 teaspoon to 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda into the pot and cook for a few minutes to take the bite out of the tomatoes.
